Tier 2 EUIt Calculator

Estimate the energy use intensity target (EUIt) for your covered building per WA CBPS §7.2.2 / §7.2.3, Tables 7-1, 7-2a, and 7-3.

Building Information
For your reference. Appears on the printed/PDF output. Site address. Appears on the printed/PDF output. Buildings permitted after July 1, 2016 get a tighter target via the Newly-Constructed Adjustment (×0.85, or 15% lower). Only Climate Zones 4C (west of Cascades) and 5B (east) are used in WA CBPS Table 7-2a.
Property Activities (up to 5)

Select each distinct activity occurring in the building, the gross floor area dedicated to it, and the weekly hours that activity is open to the public (per CBPS Table 7-3 footnote 4). For single-use buildings, enter one row.

How this calculator works

Step 1. For each building activity, look up the site EUI target (Table 7-2a) for your climate zone.

Step 2. Look up the operating-shifts normalization factor (Table 7-3) based on weekly hours: ≤50, 51–167, or 168 (24/7).

Step 3. Compute each activity's space-EUIt = EUIt × Shift Factor × % of GFA, then sum across activities to get the building-level area-weighted EUIt.

Step 4. If the building was permitted after July 1, 2016, the Newly-Constructed Adjustment applies — multiplying the target by 0.85 (i.e., tightening it 15%).
